Plus, the startup scene in New York feels like a movement. In San Francisco, tech is just what you do, what you have always done. Thus, the standard coffee question is: “What are you working on these days?” While in New York, the more applicable line of questioning is: “Where are you coming from? What did you do? Bijan Sabet: Emailing content to your app
One of the coolest things about Disqus, which powers the comments on
my tumblr, is that I can publish comments via email. It’s quick and efficient. If I lose connectivity the mail client is
smart enough to try again later on its own.
Totally agree. One strong example for me is how easy Instagram makes it to add email addresses to the Share dialog. To most I’m sure if feels like an afterthought feature but it’s allowed me to easily share my Instagram pics of Elise with family members who aren’t using Instagram or active on Facebook.

Ron put together a nice post about the panel I was on at SXSW (that he did an amazing job moderating) called Design and the Mobile Startup:
The panel included Foursquare’s Head of Product Alex Rainert, Foodspotting co-founder/CEO Alexa Andrzejewski, and Instagram co-founder Mike Krieger who spoke of how great mobile design experiences begin and evolve. They covered an overview of vision, the designer’s role, multidisciplinary collaboration, alternatives to user research, the nuances of mobile interface design, and the challenges of scaling a mobile product.

All these years after the iTunes Store first launched, Hollywood still doesn’t seem to get it: the only way to stop people from pirating is to make it easier to get content where you want it, when you want it, at a fair price.
